The main objective is to significantly advance the body of knowledge and technology to produce and use Digital Twins for Planning and Decision-Making.
We aim to come to a shared body of knowledge, methods, and tools that can be used in different but related sector applications. The ambition is to contribute to the development of data-driven, intelligent, highly interactive platforms for DR. An example of an innovation challenge is the automatic generation of VR/AR worlds from 2D geo-data. BUas has expertise in the area of Urban and Maritime Planning. |
FONTYS has complementary expertise and very recently started a DT-academy for industry. DIGIREAL connects to several strategic sector alliances, particularly for Water/Maritime (DIGISHAPE), Logistics, Mobility, and Urban Environment (LCB).
The task we set ourselves is to research how digital twins are interpreted across sectors. What can they learn from each other, and how can the production pipeline be aligned to make this fascinating new technology more accessible in urban planning and decision-making? What can it learn from the more classical digital twins used in the production industry? |
